Packer Pride

Gberger forwarded this to me because, as a Vikings fan, he likes to mock Packers fans.
The video below from The Onion is meant to make fun of Packers fans, I think…but I take pride in it. Peanut butter and jelly. Packers and beer. Some things just go perfectly together. Enjoy:

Blah

I was following the liveblogging of the Apple event today, along with Gberger. Our reaction was generally the same: “Really? All this hype for this? How is this any different than an iPhone? Why is the f*cking border on this thing so f*cking big? And iPad is a feminine product, no?”
Very, very disappointing. Nothing [...]

Cash For Cancer

I’ve been participating an obviously morbid Death Pool for the past two years. And in two years, I haven’t had anyone die. Here’s my old list from 2008 and 2009:
1. Nancy Reagan
2. Fidel Castro
3. Queen Elizabeth II
4. William Ford, Sr.
5. Barbara Bush
6. Sumner Redstone
7. Amy Winehouse
8. Wilford Brimley
9. Marv Levy
10. Andy Griffith

A Good Weekend

The weekend started out a little rough, with a 14 hour trip through snow and rain to Arkansas — and the loss in the Family Weight Loss Challenge — but it couldn’t have ended better:
Pros:
Christmas with the Family.
Arm-wrestling Champ.
Won the family bowling outing (w/ a big 127).
Got to celebrate my youngest niece’s second birthday.
Packers crush [...]

The Dirty Jerz

I have a few friends from New Jersey. I have a few friends who went to school in New Jersey. I have a few friends currently living in New Jersey. I have a few Italian-American friends. I also have friends that go to the Jersey Shore on an annual basis. So….I have to be a [...]

Side Huggin

Usually I try to refrain from posting things Gberger sends me, because he has his own blog. But I know we have different readers and I think everyone needs to see this, so I’ve decided to post it:

The best abstinence advice ever? Apparently front/normal hugs are inappropriate, and too likely to lead to baby-making, so [...]

Dominated

I was just having a conversation with Gberger about our pick pool. In our weekly battle, he’s going to beat me by 1-3 points depending on how the two remaining games shake out. We determined that any win by 4 points or less is considered ‘domination.’ That led me to make the following observation:
The AFC [...]

Beating the House

The end of Week 9 in the NFL means that we are essentially half way through the regular season. All teams have now played 8 of their 16 games. The Giants and Texans have played 9. That means it is time for lots of mid-season updates. Here goes the first of many:
As many of you [...]

Capitalism is a B-tch

Competition is great. On whole, it’s what keeps our quality of life improving. Two of the greatest corporate competitors of this decade are, arguably, Google and Wal-Mart (or Wahl-Mart).
Some people think Wal-Mart is evil, but their business helped pay for large portion of my college education, so I have to be polite. Google’s creed is [...]

Doing My Part

As most of you probably know, swine flu is everywhere. It’s pretty serious stuff already, and the peak flu season isn’t until February. It could be a rough winter for most.

Gberger sent me this funny/interesting/telling pic from his office this morning about how his group is tracking days they go without flu symptoms in the [...]
